CEO / Partner
Chris has served as Volkart May’s CEO and Managing Partner since 2008. Before taking the helm at Volkart May, she spent the majority of her career in medical devices, with global management roles in mergers and acquisitions, marketing, business development, sales and clinical services at 3M Company. She was VP Sales and Marketing for Graseby Inc, a British medical device manufacturer. She also served as General Manager for the Gynecology division of MedAmicus, Inc. and later as President of the BioMeasurement Division at Hutchinson Technology. As an active member of Medical Alley, Chris has served as co-chair of its Marketing Committee. She is a past member and chair of the CEO Roundtable organization of small businesses in the Twin Cities. Chris has a passion for business and marketing strategy, especially in the healthcare and medical technology fields. She consults with clients and outside groups around marketing, small business success and turnarounds. She has a B.A. from Westminster College and an M.B.A. from St. Thomas.
Vice President of Operations
Marianne is Volkart May’s high-performing operations leader. Her goal: deliver campaigns that sing. Marianne’s sales leadership, business acumen, attention to detail and contagious positivity combine to produce outstanding and on-schedule results for clients. Marianne received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Music: Voice Performance from the College of St. Catherine. She is a member of Team Women and the Professional Association for Customer Engagement (PACE).
They say if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. A self-described nerd, gamer, sci-fi and fantasy connoisseur, Joel’s true love is computers and technology. Now he keeps the Volkart May systems tuned and running at peak performance, including our state-of-the-art dialing platform and digital call recording system. He develops tools and processes including reporting, CRM integrations and email campaigns to further increase the value of Volkart May’s work for our clients. Before joining the Volkart May team in 2012, Joel was a programmer for seven years at Boston Scientific Corporation.

Senior Contact Center Manager
Christine wears many hats at Volkart May including trainer, coach, campaign manager, liaison with client management, quality assurance and general management. She brings with her a wealth of call center, customer service and customer relations experience. Prior to joining Volkart May in 2013, Christine served as a paralegal, real estate office manager and call center agent at Rockler Woodworking where she was the leading up-seller.
Anika M. Temperante
Director of Sales and Marketing
As a passionate customer advocate, Anika M. Temperante loves helping marketing and sales leaders achieve their goals. She’s known for her innate curiosity, her willingness to dive into new situations and the long-term relationships she builds with clients. Anika joined the Volkart May sales team in 2020 and handles new business development. She brings more than a decade of sales experience to her role, previously working with leading national brands in the fashion industry. She holds a B.A. in Fashion Merchandising from St. Catherine’s University.
Contact Center Manager
John Halling knows firsthand what makes a great outbound calling campaign. As Contact Center Manager, he helps ensure smooth operations at our Minnesota facility and with our work-from-home callers. John joined Volkart May in 2018 as a Business Development Specialist, gaining additional responsibilities as a Mentor, Lead Generation Specialist and Trainer. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth. Outside the office, you’ll find him enjoying outdoor activities, spending time with his pets and computer gaming.
Senior Client Manager
A dedicated problem-solver, Mary Berg loves to build great relationships that help our clients reach their goals. She joined Volkart May in 2022 as Senior Client Manager, overseeing client communications, reporting and project management on outbound calling campaigns. Her background includes significant client service experience, including key roles with Carlson Marketing Loyalty Group, HSBC and Augeo. Mary prides herself on being responsive, attentive to detail and deadline-oriented. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Business from Gustavus Adolphus College. On weekends in the summer, you can find Mary biking the trails around Lake Minnetonka, spending time boating or floating on Lake Minnetonka, or reading a good book.
